What is cryptocurrency mining and how does it work?

Cryptocurrency mining is a repeated search for a valid Proof-of-Work result. The winning result does not become trusted by itself: independent nodes must verify the block and every transaction under the same rules.

01 · Key points

What is cryptocurrency mining and how does it work?

Candidate blocks and transactions
Mining software builds or receives a candidate block containing valid transactions and required metadata. Changing a nonce or other permitted field changes the hash, so the miner can test a new candidate many times.
01
Proof, target and difficulty
A result is valid only when it satisfies the network target. Difficulty expresses how demanding that target is and may change according to a published adjustment rule. A hash is quick to verify even when finding one required substantial work.
02
Acceptance and rewards
Nodes validate the proof, block structure and transactions before extending the chain they consider valid. A protocol may define a block reward and fees, but actual income also depends on competition, uptime and costs. Quinvarium has no live reward or difficulty data.

QNV mining is not live

No public Quinvarium network, signed miner build, confirmed hardware compatibility, live difficulty, reward schedule, public hash rate or QNV market price is available. These pages are educational and do not provide a download, calculator or profit estimate.

Questions and answers

Does mining create valid coins automatically?

No. A candidate block and its reward are accepted only if nodes validate them under the protocol rules.

Can I practise these steps on Quinvarium now?

No public QNV network or miner is live. The explanation describes the general process, not an available QNV workflow.
