Proof of Work algorithm: difficulty, blocks and rewards

Proof of Work lets a network make block production costly to perform and inexpensive to verify. A valid proof demonstrates that a candidate met the published target; it does not replace transaction and block validation.

Proof of Work algorithm: difficulty, blocks and rewards

Algorithm and verification
The algorithm defines the bytes or semantic data to test and the condition a result must satisfy. Nodes independently recompute or verify the proof and reject blocks that fail any consensus rule.

Mining difficulty
Difficulty maps the target to expected work. A difficulty-adjustment algorithm can react to observed block timing, but its exact window, limits and arithmetic are consensus-critical and must be specified before launch.

Block reward and chain work
A protocol may issue a block subsidy and include transaction fees. Nodes compare valid chain histories using a defined work rule. Quinvarium has not published live difficulty, reward, hash-rate or production block data.
